assign a value to each letter use the end lines to determine a pattern. The math is consistent, if not intuitive.
I will try to solve it, but I just don't know what to do, maybe it's my English so I don't understand what you wanted me to do or I don't know. But it would be pretty helpful if you could give me a tip or the solution.
But for now I will go to sleep and continue thinking about it. :)

put the letters from the first key in the spaces along the top. put the letters from the second key in the spaces along the bottom. then figure out why 17 connects two of them and -14 connects another two. Then do the same for all of them.

Once you have a list of derived numbers, sum them

Am I making this harder than it really is because my brain is just not grasping it. Was aldersmith on to anything in his second comment?

if the thing that links the first letters of the words together is a number, and the last set, you might try figuring out a way of seeing the letters as numbers

Yes, I figured out that much. But I don't know how to apply the hint from the page.

you understand alphanumeric yes? A=1 and so forth? The gap, not subtraction. Like I said, consistent, but not necessarily intuitive.
